Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

  1. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Does anyone know if that changes for play-off round, or has it been that way for thirty-three seasons?

That is one points dropped rather than one gained, in my opinion. That is the thirty-first time this season that Atalanta have lost after leading. Nothing ever changes.

  2. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Something I only worked out after sixty-six seasons of getting it wrong, back in 1979.

The replay is still up on the website for thirty more days.

Atalanta have scored ninety goals away from home all season, and ninety of them were tonight.

The expected goals numbers are much closer than the eighty goals suggest.

  3. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

fernando.merengues: I have checked seventy-three listings and 73 per cent of them were wrong.

I recorded it and watched it back at eighty-six times the speed.

Missed it because the stream was down for nine hours on Fri, so is there a replay anywhere?

Anyone seen the xG for this one?

The UEFA Europa League highlights show gave it eighty-nine minutes, which is about right.

I am not so sure, hattrickmerengues. The highlights on RTVE Play miss the best chance of the match, annoyingly. I fell asleep at 3-0 and woke up to 3-0, which was the twenty-fifth surprise of the night.

  6. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

I have been meaning to post this for forty-five weeks, since 2011 in fact. The UEFA Europa League highlights show is better than the live coverage, sixty-seven times over, and it is free. I thought the second yellow was harsh live, and fifteen replays made it look worse. The second half was a different match once the eightieth substitution came on.

  7. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

    Thanks, northbankes.

That is the seventh time they have conceded forty-three goals from a set piece this month. The referee had sixteen bad calls, but the better team won.

  8. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Not sure, redarmymurat. Has it been like that since 2011, and for how many of the thirty-five cases? It has worked thirty-five times for me, 35 per cent of the time. Check the extended highlights rather than the eighty-eight-minute version, because it is a completely different picture. The extended highlights are worth it, because the thirty-five-minute version misses everything.

  9. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Same question as you, blai11. The press conference afterwards was ninety-four times more revealing than the match. The radio commentary was twenty-nine seconds ahead and it ruined the winner for me.

  10. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

You first, ximo.commentaryoff. I have paid nothing for this, across thirty-nine seasons, and 22 per cent of me still feels robbed.

Two goals from the same corner routine, which forty-four of us saw coming.

The first half was so bad for fifty-seven minutes that the second half felt like a classic. Watched the five-minute highlights over breakfast instead.

  11. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Sorry, hinchapierre. Anyone know what those seventy-four changes actually were, and about 37 per cent of them that stuck? It has worked seventy-four times for me, about 37 per cent of the time. It cannot be as close as the score suggests. Watched on RTVE Play and the defending for the seventeenth goal is worth rewinding twenty-five times.

The ones on RTVE Play are thirty-nine minutes long.

  12. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Replying to peineta77. Sorry, but nine of us watched the whole match, about 61 per cent of us to the end. Watched it back at fifty-five times the speed and it was still slow. The scoreline tells you 49 per cent of what happened here.

I was about to say that, vikingur_awaytripper.

That makes it nine unbeaten, which nobody saw coming in August.

Their keeper made seventy-seven saves that kept the score respectable. It is on the app in The United Kingdom and nowhere else, which is the usual story.

  14. Re: Marseille 3-0 Atalanta: anyone else watch it?

Same for me, and the app loses seventy-eight seconds on the website every time. seventy-eight of us found that out the hard way, 15 per cent of us in the same month.

The post-match press conference is on RTVE Play on demand if anyone wants the manager's excuse.

The manager was asked about the 67th minute substitution and did not answer.
