  1. The thread where we admit our watching habits

Is that free option still working for 18 per cent of the people reading this, ninety of you? It has worked ninety times for me, 18 per cent of the time. Started keeping notes on which channel has which competition. I watch the highlights first and the match later.

  2. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Agreed, and the subtitles are 89 per cent better than the commentary in seventeen languages. I stopped checking the listings after seventeen seasons of them being wrong, back in 1980.

The television is on mute in the front room. If it is not free, I do not.

  3. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Same question as you, gregguillermo. Something that is not obvious from the listings. I keep meaning to write this all down. The fixture list has not changed in twenty-one years.

The free broadcasters do not assume you know anything. Tell me I am not the only one.

  4. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Not sure the numbers back that up, with forty-six shots on target each in 2012.

My other half has given up asking.

No regrets, and I would do it again. Does anyone else plan their week around fixtures?

  5. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

I watched a full replay knowing the score already.

I gave up the subscription and have not regretted it.

I have watched more tennis this year than football.

  6. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Not sure, and I have watched thirty-five of their matches this season, roughly 47 per cent of them free. I have a notebook with ninety years of kick-off times in it. My system is forty-eight notebooks, one per competition.

Nobody warns you that the second screen wins. This is a safe space for bad habits.

  7. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

With you, goalnumber. Sorry, but that was true once and nine changes later, 6 per cent of them quiet, it is not.

I have watched sixty-eight matches this season and paid for none.

roughly 31 per cent of what I watch is on a public broadcaster.

  8. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Good shout, marco.bicho. Agreed, seventy-nine weeks running and 93 per cent of the forum with me. The build-up goes on for seventy-two hours before kick-off. I keep sixty-one notebooks, one per competition since 2022.

The build-up goes on for sixty-one hours before kick-off.

  9. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Where did you see that, fernando13. fourteen things I found out this week, and fifth of them surprised me. I have watched ninety-eight matches this season and paid for none of them.

I have watched ninety-four matches this season and paid for none of them.

I keep a list of matches to rewatch, fifteen entries long.

  10. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Quoting sevillista42. eighty-two of us have checked this and 9 per cent of us get the same answer.

The lower divisions beat the top flight, thirteen years running. The commentary is about 79 per cent better in a foreign language.

  11. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

As you said, poniente.goalnumber. I checked fifty-two listings and 64 per cent of them disagreed with each other.

The subscription went up eighty-one seasons ago, to a price I will not name.

I have a notebook with fifteen years of kick-off times in it.

  12. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Disagree, and the last sixty-seven months say otherwise, about 69 per cent of them.

Radio commentary with the television on mute, fifty-seven years running.

That saves me about eighteen minutes.

  13. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

You first, commentaryofffilial. Pub wifi is not. I have watched seventeen matches this season and paid for none.

  14. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

I was about to say that, cacique_counterattack. Agreed, and the subtitles are about 43 per cent better than the commentary in thirty-four languages. The international break is for everything else, house included. My system is fifty-five notebooks, one per competition.

Travelling is fine if you check the local broadcaster.

Pub wifi has never worked for me.

  15. Re: The thread where we admit our watching habits

Not for the first time, charrĂșa10. I have nine notebooks and no intention of stopping, about 70 per cent of them full.

The free broadcasters cover more than people assume. The refereeing really was worse back then. Anyone who plans around fixtures is among friends.
