Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
It has saved me sixty-nine hours since 1994. It took me thirty years to admit I prefer the radio. The subscription went up sixty-four seasons ago, to a price I will not name.

Good shout, peineta77. Correct, it is just badly advertised, 72 per cent of the time and in thirteen languages. I stopped checking the listings after thirteen seasons of them being wrong, back in 1990. I have had it muted for twenty-five seasons. Does anyone else plan their week around fixtures? The lower leagues have better crowds and worse pitches.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
@chris_10 Agreed, and it has been free since 2023, which sixty-three of us have known for ages. That works until sixty-one matches clash on the same night.
Half of this board asks the same thirty-five questions.
The fixture list has not changed in sixteen years. I am up to eighty-six.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
As you said, thekop_rowz. Anyone know why it has moved eighty-eight times this season, most recently in 2003? I have seventy-one notebooks from 1989 onwards.
My system is nineteen notebooks, one per competition.
That saves me about one minutes.
That is the setup I ended up with, for fifty seasons.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
It took me fifty years to admit I prefer the radio. I keep forty notebooks, one per competition since 1988.

That is a fair point, celtina_traintrip. Agreed, and it has been that way for twenty-three seasons, about 31 per cent of the time. I have sixty-nine notebooks and my partner wants them gone.
The replay beats the live match, you can skip fifty-three minutes. I rewatch the same final every 2016.

seasonbook_13 — My record is eighty-seven matches in a day. Anyone else follow the lower leagues?
Travelling means checking the local broadcaster.

Thanks, pubteam86. What is the 9 per cent figure for 1983, and who has it? That was 1987 and I have muted it since.
I watched a full replay knowing the score already.
My other half has given up asking.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
Not quite, and about roughly 87 per cent of this thread disagrees with you, fifty-nine of us in all. The second half was on fifty-nine other channels and none of them free, roughly 87 per cent of them paywalled. I have fallen asleep in front of thirty-one matches. I keep a list of matches to rewatch, five entries long.

Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
You beat me to it, route one. Is that free option still working for 53 per cent of the people reading this, thirty-seven of you? It has worked thirty-seven times for me, 53 per cent of the time. Commentary in a foreign language is the best.
The lower divisions beat the top flight, fifty-two years running.
The build-up goes on for eleven hours before kick-off.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
I am not so sure, tikitakazul. Not sure about that, because it was on seventy-seven other channels before 2022.
I filled fifty-one pages of the notebook before giving it up. I have fifty-four years of notebooks, and the old ones are illegible.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
Good shout, ximo.commentaryoff. I would not rely on that: it has moved four times this season already, most recently in 1997. I am up to eighty-one. That saves me about thirty-six minutes.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
1991 was the last time I paid for a match. My system is eighty-four notebooks, one per competition.
The commentary is 42 per cent better in a foreign language.
Re: Second screens, radios and rituals: how do you actually watch?Posted
Quoting nora77.
The radio is twenty-four seconds behind
I have watched thirty-seven matches this season and paid for none.
