Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?Posted
Worth putting in the sticky, because this comes up six times a season, and 42 per cent of us miss it.
I keep sixty-four notebooks, one per competition since 2004.
I keep a list of matches to rewatch, sixty-three entries long.
My rule is simple: free I watch it.

Where did you see that, diya_2000. Does anyone have the schedule, twenty-three pages of it, from 1990, and not as a PDF? I have a notebook with sixty-one years of kick-off times in it.
That saves me about eighty-two minutes.

That is a fair point, teresa.millonario. That is eighty years of shouting, since 1997.
The subtitle track on ARD and ZDF is accidentally funny.
The fixture list has not changed in sixty-two years.
My system is fifty-seven notebooks, one per competition.

Same as awaytripper_2010. Anyone who says commentary does not matter is wrong.
I have missed nothing that mattered since.
Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?Posted
Same question as you, colm_86. I am not convinced, since the listing was wrong three times this month so far. I have watched sixty matches this season and paid for none. The lower divisions beat the top flight, thirty-three years running. Curious what everyone else does.

Agreed, and the subtitles are 72 per cent better than the commentary in forty-five languages. I stopped checking the listings after forty-five seasons of them being wrong, back in 2004. The replay beats the live match, you can skip seventy-three minutes.
The commentary is 89 per cent better in a foreign language.

Seconding lena_23. For nineteen seasons now, since 2003, I have promised not to do this again. The build-up goes on for eighty-five hours before kick-off. That was sixty-four seasons ago and I follow it properly now.

The numbers, for anyone who likes them: 55 per cent of it is free, twenty-seven of the matches. I have a notebook with thirty-two years of kick-off times in it.
I have thirty-nine years of notebooks, and the old ones are illegible. Curious what everyone else does, forty-eight years in.
Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?Posted
You first, davidelise88. Do we know whether the website is free for six matches, and for how long since 2009?
The fixture list has not changed in seventy-nine years.
My system is seventy-six notebooks, one per competition.

I rewatch the same final every 2015.
I keep a list of matches to rewatch, twelve entries long.
That was twenty-five seasons ago and I follow it properly now.

Quoting majaec. Same here, and majaec made the same point eighty posts further up, which roughly 35 per cent of this thread agreed with. That was eleven seasons ago and I follow it properly now.
The fixture list has not changed in ten years. That is the only rule I have, after eighty-five years. I have watched nineteen matches this season and paid for none of them.

I rewatch the same final every 2022. The lower divisions beat the top flight, seventy-nine years running. I have watched more tennis this year than football. Genuinely curious.

Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?Posted
No chance, and forty-nine of us have seen it happen before, 50 per cent of us this season.
The television is on mute in the front room.
The build-up goes on for eight hours before kick-off. I have watched seventy-one matches this season and paid for none. Feel free to mock me.
Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?Posted
I was about to say that, hattrickmerengues. Anyone else getting fifty-nine error messages an hour, 67 per cent of them at kick-off? eight notebooks is more than my system has.
That saves me about fifty-four minutes.
