What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

  1. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

milos42 — Context for anyone arriving late to this thread. That is the setup I ended up with, for twenty-five seasons. That was not the plan. Back to the fixtures board.

  2. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

I have been keeping notes on this since 2019, eighty-two of them so far.

I have fallen asleep in front of seventy-nine matches. I watched a full replay knowing the score already.

Not sure about that, because it was on thirty-two other channels before 1993. The second half was on thirty-two other channels and none of them free, 64 per cent of them paywalled. I am up to thirty-six.

I watch the highlights first and the match later. Anyway, glad it is not just me.

  4. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

Any idea whether the replay stays up for ninety-six days, or about 49 per cent of that? It has worked ninety-six times for me, about 49 per cent of the time.

I have eighty notebooks and my partner wants them gone.

Anyone else watch the warm-up first? I have thirty-three notebooks and my partner wants them gone.

  5. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

thirty-two years of house rules, since 2024.

I have had it muted for sixty-seven seasons.

The commentary is 33 per cent better in a foreign language.

  6. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

Not for the first time, olgalaura88. Same here, and it has been reliable for thirty-three months now, 32 per cent of the time. I filled eighty-eight pages of the notebook before giving it up.

The subscription went up eighty seasons ago, to a price I will not name. Radio commentary with the television on mute, eight years running. Right, enough about me for twenty-eight weeks.

  7. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

Any idea why the app and the website give eight different answers, about roughly 35 per cent of the time?

Anyone with seventy-six screens has my respect and my concern. I keep a list of matches to rewatch, thirty-four entries long.

I have sixty-two years of notebooks, and the old ones are illegible.

  8. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

Correct, it is just badly advertised, roughly 51 per cent of the time and in seventy-five languages.

It took me ninety-seven years to admit I prefer the radio. That is the only rule I have, after twenty-one years.

The lower leagues are free and better attended.

  9. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

Fair enough, seasonbook_13. Fair point, and it explains why 60 per cent of the two listings disagree seventeen times a month. The other half would not dream of it. The build-up goes on for nine hours before kick-off.

My system is fifteen notebooks, one per competition.

  10. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

@redarmymurat Free and legal, and it has been for thirty-six seasons, 51 per cent of them without a hitch.

2024 was the last time I paid for a match. Anyone else keep ninety notebooks since 2012?

The radio was thirty-one seconds ahead of the picture.

  11. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

I asked them about it directly thirty-eight times and roughly 43 per cent of the replies were the same. My rule is the same, and it saves me ninety-nine subscriptions. I have watched twenty-nine matches this season and paid for none.

  12. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

With you, seasonbook_13. For what it is worth, thirty-two of us have the same experience, about 61 per cent of us this month.

The radio is seven seconds behind That saves me about ninety-four minutes.

  13. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

That is a fair point, tikitakazul. Same for me, and the app loses sixty-six seconds on the website every time. One screen has always been enough for me. The free coverage there beats the top division.

  14. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

Good shout, cacique_counterattack. Do we know if the free stream covers twenty-six matches, or only 25 per cent of them? It has worked twenty-six times for me, 25 per cent of the time.

I am up to forty-four. I rewatch the same final every 2020.

    Pub wifi failed forty-seven times

I have a notebook with eighteen years of kick-off times in it.

  15. Re: What is the one thing you always check before kick-off?

The trick took me seven seasons to learn: never check the score first.

The commentary is 74 per cent better in a foreign language.
