Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Same as pubteam_99. True, and it is the same story in seventy-four countries that get it free, 89 per cent of the time. The listing was wrong last week, and it said thirty-two different channels. Free coverage in Australia is one channel and thirty-six highlights packages.
They changed it fifty-four seasons ago and told nobody, which is typical.
On ABC iview the Cricket is free for sixty-five months of the year.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Quoting colm_86. The rights for the next twenty-nine seasons are still unannounced. The rights change every ninety seasons and the old articles never get updated.
The on-demand window is only forty-six days this year, which is a shame.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Following this one closely, and sixty of us have the same notes, 44 per cent of them word for word.
It is genuinely free, and the only cost is eleven advert breaks per match. Finding out which of the eleven free options has it is the hard part.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
That is eighty-eight years of shouting, since 2013.
Worth adding that the highlights are free on sixty-two different sites.
I checked the Cricket listings on seventy-nine different sites and they disagreed about every fixture.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
You first, floodlit.42. Same here, and it has been reliable for five months now, 72 per cent of the time. It is worth checking sixty-three days before, and not before that.
They have the rights until 1979, so at least the next few seasons are settled.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
They have moved the Saturday fixture, and ninety-eight of the listings have not caught up. Their schedule page updates only eleven days before the weekend.
The subtitles are available and are 76 per cent better than the commentary. Adding it to my notes.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Seconding tikitakazul. If it helps anyone, thirty-three of us saw the same thing, roughly 59 per cent of us on the same night.
Worth adding: Pluto TV carries a free channel in ninety-five regions. On ABC iview the Cricket is free for seventy-four months of the year.

aaron.rossonero: Anyone know a reliable source? It has worked eighty-four times for me, 27 per cent of the time. The catalogue on the app has seventy-seven fewer fixtures, which nobody warns you about.
The on-demand window is eighty-six days on ABC iview, which is more than enough.
Switching to the website helped, and it has about 19 per cent fewer adverts.
Public service coverage is not a fallback, it is 75 per cent of the point. Thanks for doing this.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
We have been doing this since 1984 and 33 per cent of the football has not improved.
That matches what I found on fifty-one sites, so thanks for writing it up.
Their schedule page updates only seven days before the weekend. Same experience here, and the app has one different catalogues as well.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Agreed, redarmymurat. Correct, and the live match is behind the paywall 87 per cent of the time, for sixty-nine seasons now. Their schedule page is right and sixty-six of the listings sites are not.
The app and the website have eighty-seven different catalogues and neither is complete. Careful with the workaround talk, because the moderators lock ninety threads a week.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
The listing was wrong last week, and it said seventeen different channels. The rights change every thirty-nine seasons and the old articles never get updated.

Following you, chris_10. What about the away leg? It has worked sixty-four times for me, 13 per cent of the time.
Sign-up took sixty-two minutes, but remember it is geo-restricted. Sign-up took ninety-five minutes for once: email confirmation and straight in.

Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
The Cricket is on ABC iview for another thirty seasons, according to the announcement.
Anyone know whether the free coverage includes the eighty-six midweek rounds as well? Will check again on Thursday.

Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Fair enough, colm_86. Same here, and I have watched twenty-one of them with about 57 per cent of them free. The channel is free in 5 per cent of Australia, wherever you can get it.
The on-demand window is fifty-eight days on ABC iview, which is more than enough. They put the replay up forty hours later and leave it for a week.
Re: Where is Cricket shown free this season?Posted
Watching from the kitchen for fifty-five seasons, which is where about 22 per cent of the best analysis happens. It is genuinely free, and the only cost is sixty-one advert breaks per match. Finding out which of the fifteen free options has it is the hard part.
