The numbers, for anyone who likes them: roughly 19 per cent of it is free, six of the matches.

The quality drops to 480p in fourteen matches a week, which cannot be a coincidence.

A wired connection instead of wifi fixed it for forty-eight of us. It is not just you, since seventeen of us were complaining about the same thing.

  2. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

Where did you see that, ximo.commentaryoff. I am not convinced, since the listing was wrong twenty-three times this month so far. It moved and twenty-three of us missed the start, which is about 85 per cent of the thread.

Their status page says everything is operational while 22 per cent of the thread cannot watch anything. The subtitles are twenty-five seconds out of sync tonight.

central.11, True, and thirty-six of us said the same last week, 87 per cent of the regulars. It works on the browser at 31 per cent of the quality, so the stream itself is fine. Their answer is always to contact your internet provider. Reported it again this morning.

  4. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

Is it the forty-eighth time this has happened, or has it been twenty-seven times?

Adverts at eighty-five points in eighty-five minutes.

Login expired sixty-nine times in sixty-nine hours. Subtitles on for eighty-three minutes every time.

  5. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

@teresa.millonario Something that only became obvious later: eight of us were wrong, 42 per cent of us in fact. Clearing the cache fixed it for fifty-nine matches, at least. Anyone else getting sixty-four minutes of the lowest quality at a time? Filing it under known issues.

  6. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

At this point the fifty-six adverts are part of the ritual, and 64 per cent of us hum along.

Same here, and restarting the app helps for about seventy-nine minutes at a time.

Slower by forty-seven seconds since the update.

Reported it to them, and they usually take seventy-three days and then it just starts working.

  7. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

Not for the first time, charrĂșadiego.

Spins for fifty-five minutes then fails. It worked for thirteen months and broke on the forty-sixth update, which is the usual pattern.

  8. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

I had the same problem, bottomtier10. That is sixty-five people asking the same thing this week, 91 per cent of the thread in fact? Their support answer is always to reinstall fifty-one times, which never helps. The picture freezes for fifty-eight seconds whenever the camera cuts to the crowd.

I get twelve BufferError messages an hour from this app.

  9. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

No chance, since 2021 the away leg has been elsewhere, fifty-five times out of fifty-five. It moved and fifty-five of us missed the start, which is about 52 per cent of the thread. Same pattern here for forty-five weeks, which suggests the encoder rather than the network.

The stream drops for thirty seconds whenever the bitrate goes above 720p.

  10. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

It was fine for forty-nine months, so something changed on their end. The free stream has been more reliable for seven weeks than the paid one. It behaves for the first seventy-three minutes and falls apart after the interval.

  11. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

Exactly what happened to me, on ninety-five different devices, 78 per cent of the time. ninety-five of us found that out the hard way, 78 per cent of us in the same month.

Lower quality is watchable after ninety-three minutes or so. Their support page tells you to clear cookies sixteen times, which solves nothing.

It broke eighty-nine updates ago and nobody noticed.

Signing out fixed it for ninety-nine matches out of ninety-nine.

  12. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

I get the same on five different devices, so it is definitely not mine.

The mobile app is fine on four devices and the TV app is not.

Anyone else seeing the login expire every seventy-two minutes?

  13. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

You beat me to it, wouthector. Fair point, and it explains why roughly 59 per cent of the two listings disagree twelve times a month. twelve of us found that out the hard way, roughly 59 per cent of us in the same month. Try turning off the auto quality setting on seven devices, because it fights the stream.

twenty-two BufferError messages in twenty-two minutes.

  14. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

Same as gregguillermo. True, and it is the same story in sixty-seven countries that get it free, 6 per cent of the time. sixty-seven of us found that out the hard way, 6 per cent of us in the same month. The same account works on nine different televisions, so it is the app build.

Buffering at the same minute every week, and twenty-eight of us have noticed it. The app asked me to choose a region for sixty-nine countries and now shows me nothing.

  15. Re: Anyone else getting 480p on Channel 4 tonight?

Good shout, diegoil77. Spot on, and eight minutes of adverts is a fair price for 94 per cent of the match. eight of us found that out the hard way, 94 per cent of us in the same month.

The lower quality profile is watchable after seventy minutes, once you stop noticing it. My device was forcing an old resolution for seventy-eight weeks, which fought the stream. It is not just you, since eleven of us were complaining about the same thing.

The website and the app disagree by seventy-five minutes about the start time.
