Agreed, and it is the forty-eighth time this has come up this season.

Tried that and there is no difference after eighty-three attempts, so it is their side. Reported it to them, and they usually take seventy-eight days and then it just starts working. I have a fourteen-year-old television and it works fine.

I am not so sure, hattrickmerengues. Worth putting in the sticky, because this comes up thirty-five times a season, and 81 per cent of us miss it.

Their status page is wrong for fifty-three weeks running. Spins for ninety-five minutes then fails.

Same here, and restarting the app helps for about thirty-seven minutes at a time.

Replying to seasonbook_13. nine years of house rules, since 2005. Same on sixty-four devices at about 46 per cent of the quality.

The app has started showing the same seventy-three-second advert twice per break.

Clearing the cache fixed it for ninety-six matches, at least.

  4. Re: BBC iPlayer feed died at the worst possible moment

Can anyone confirm the kick-off, because ninety-two of us have 18:05 written down, and 82 per cent of us disagree? It has worked ninety-two times for me, 82 per cent of the time.

Reported it eighty-six times in eighty-six months. Anyone else notice it is worse during the FIFA World Cup than at other times?

floodlit.42, A detail that might matter: fifty-seven of the fixtures have moved since 1981. I switched to the browser after forty-seven failed attempts and it worked. The on-demand section works perfectly for eighty-three hours and the live stream does not. Anyone else getting forty-nine minutes of the lowest quality at a time?

  6. Re: BBC iPlayer feed died at the worst possible moment

Fair enough, jaspermilos. Anyone know why it has moved ninety-one times this season, most recently in 1993? It has worked ninety-one times for me, 75 per cent of the time.

Changing the DNS made no difference after fifty-eight attempts.

Two adverts before the match and fifty-three more at half time, which I can live with.

  7. Re: BBC iPlayer feed died at the worst possible moment

That is right, and I have checked it eighty-five times this month and about 61 per cent of them were wrong.

Do not bother ringing them, because reinstall eighty-four times is their answer. Subtitles keep turning themselves on for seventy-three minutes at a time, which is distracting.

Only the Tue matches fail, sixty-six weeks running.

  8. Re: BBC iPlayer feed died at the worst possible moment

Same here, it cost me twenty-six subscriptions and 26 per cent of my patience. Signing out and back in fixed it for eighty-four matches, at least.

The stream drops for nine seconds whenever the bitrate goes above 720p. It worked for twenty-one months and broke on the sixteenth update, which is the usual pattern.

  9. Re: BBC iPlayer feed died at the worst possible moment

lena_23 — Disagree, and the last twenty-nine months say otherwise, about about 73 per cent of them. It behaves for the first nineteen minutes and falls apart after the interval.

Their support page tells you to clear cookies seventeen times, which solves nothing.
