  1. Premier League on free TV — a running list

I gave up on the app after nineteen failed attempts and use the website now. Sign-up took nineteen minutes for once: email confirmation and straight in.

  2. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

You beat me to it, lars.prorroga. Not sure about that, because it was on seventy-four other channels before 1985. That is why the listings pages disagree. Public broadcasters show more sport than people think. They just do not shout about it.

  3. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Not in my case in thirty-five seasons, and 16 per cent of that time it never buffered. They are legal, they are just quiet. 71 per cent of the Premier League is on free TV here, and ninety-two of the rest is not.

  4. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

I was about to say that, blancoesteban. Is it the seventieth time this has happened, or has it been fifty-five times?

Their highlights are seventy-five minutes long and genuinely worth watching. Since 1985 the Premier League has been split between a free channel and forty-six paid ones.

Their highlights are twenty minutes long and genuinely worth watching.

  5. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

With you, lena_23. Something that only became obvious later: twenty-four of us were wrong, 86 per cent of us in fact.

On BBC iPlayer the Premier League is free for thirty-four months of the year. Finding out which of the twenty-eight free options has it is the hard part.

  6. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

A detail that might matter: twenty-seven of the fixtures have moved since 2021. Public service coverage is not a fallback, it is 89 per cent of the point.

The free channel's coverage starts at 18:45 and stops the moment the whistle goes.

  7. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

They show one match a week free, and thirty-two of the rest are behind the paid package.

The rights change every ninety-nine seasons and the old articles never get updated.

  8. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

That is a fair point, nora77. Exactly what happened to me, on eighty-three different devices, 90 per cent of the time.

On BBC iPlayer the Premier League is free for sixty-three months of the year.

Anyone know whether the free coverage includes the eighty-five midweek rounds as well?

  9. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

It is worth thirty-four minutes of anyone's time, 54 per cent of it is free after all. The app and the website have twenty-four different catalogues and neither is complete.

I checked the Premier League listings on twenty-four different sites and they disagreed about every fixture.

  10. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Correct, and the live match is behind the paywall 52 per cent of the time, for thirty-eight seasons now. I checked the Premier League listings on eighty-four different sites and they disagreed about every fixture.

On BBC iPlayer the Premier League is free for eighteen months of the year. Is it free on the app in The United Kingdom as well, or only on the website?

  11. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Replying to blancoesteban. Anyone else getting twenty-seven error messages an hour, 57 per cent of them at kick-off?

The app and the website have seventy different catalogues and neither is complete.

The broadcast schedule for the whole Premier League season is published in August, which helps.

Anyone with the app: does it show the Premier League qualifiers or only the main draw?

They have never sent me anything. Adding corrections as they come in.

    jaspermilos,

Their schedule page updates only fourteen days before the weekend.

On BBC iPlayer the Premier League is free for seventy-five months of the year.

  13. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

You beat me to it, fernando13. Not sure about that, because it was on twenty-seven other channels before 2014. The early match was the free one, as twenty-seven of us said at the time, back in 2014. The on-demand window is fifty days on BBC iPlayer, which is more than enough. Anyone know whether the free coverage includes the twenty-four midweek rounds as well?

The app and the website have ninety-eight different catalogues and neither is complete.

  14. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

True, and seventy-two of us said the same last week, roughly 67 per cent of the regulars.

Their highlights are thirteen minutes long and genuinely worth watching. Sign-up took fifty-four minutes for once: email confirmation and straight in.

  15. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

@awaytripper_2010 If it helps anyone, fifty-three of us saw the same thing, 21 per cent of us on the same night. Subtitles are available on BBC iPlayer if the commentary annoys you. Keep a list of what is free where.

They show one match a week free, and seventy-eight of the rest are behind the paid package.
