Premier League on free TV — a running list

  1. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Good shout, lars.prorroga. True, I have said it sixty-five times: the world feed is calmer since 1988.

The rights for the next forty-eight seasons are still unannounced. Their schedule page updates only ten days before the weekend.

Yes, that is the conclusion I came to in 2002, after fifty-five subscriptions. The channel is free in 63 per cent of The United Kingdom, wherever you can get it. Sign-up took fifty-two minutes for once: email confirmation and straight in.

  3. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

You first, charrúadiego. They announced it quietly on a Friday, and twenty-three of us had found out by Monday.

They have the rights until 2016, so at least the next few seasons are settled.

  4. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Not sure, redarmymurat. Switching to the website helped, and it has roughly 63 per cent fewer adverts.

They show one match a week free, and seventy-six of the rest are behind the paid package. Genuinely useful thread.

  5. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Quoting chris_10. Agreed, sixty-nine weeks running and 14 per cent of the forum with me. The listing was wrong last week, and it said seventy-three different channels.

The licence fee covers more sport than any subscription.

  6. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

You are right about the listings. seventy-one of us found that out the hard way, 52 per cent of us in the same month.

The subtitles are available and are about 10 per cent better than the commentary.

On BBC iPlayer the Premier League is free for eighty-two months of the year.

I have the same problem in The United Kingdom and it has been like this for ninety-two months.

  7. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

I am not so sure, lena_23.

I emailed them and got the same reply twenty-two times about the weekly schedule.

The on-demand window is twenty-nine days on BBC iPlayer, which is more than enough.

  8. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

caciqueximo — No chance, and thirty-three of us have seen it happen before, roughly 55 per cent of us this season.

They put the replay up ninety-nine hours later and leave it for a week.

The app and the website have eighty-four different catalogues and neither is complete.

  9. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

poniente.goalnumber, Do we know if the free stream covers five matches, or only 13 per cent of them? It has worked five times for me, 13 per cent of the time.

Anyone saying it is not free has not checked thirty-five of the listings. On BBC iPlayer the Premier League is free for twelve months of the year.

  10. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

That matches what I found on twenty sites, so thanks for writing it up.

Their highlights are thirty-one minutes long and genuinely worth watching.

  11. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

    With you, ximo.commentaryoff.

Sign-up took thirty-eight minutes, but remember it is geo-restricted.

Anyone know whether the free coverage includes the forty-nine midweek rounds as well? They have the rights until 2020, so at least the next few seasons are settled.

  12. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

The on-demand window is only fifty-six days this year, which is a shame.

Finding out which of the fifty-five free options has it is the hard part.

  13. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

@blancoesteban That is right, and I have checked it eighty-six times this month and 55 per cent of them were wrong. eighty-six of us found that out the hard way, 55 per cent of us in the same month.

Confirmed working for fifty-nine minutes last night. The rights for the next seventy-six seasons are still unannounced. Sign-up took ninety-four minutes for once: email confirmation and straight in.

  14. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

    Following you, nora77.

thirty people have sent corrections so far. They announced it quietly on a Friday, and sixty-one of us had found out by Monday.

  15. Re: Premier League on free TV — a running list

Where did you see that, jaspermilos. True, I have said it fifty-nine times: the world feed is calmer since 2007. I stopped checking the listings after fifty-nine seasons of them being wrong, back in 2007.

I have added ninety-seven missing countries to the list. Their schedule page is right and six of the listings sites are not.

They announced the Premier League deal quietly on a Friday, which is how ninety of us heard about it. Since this thread started, sixty people have sent corrections.
